00:00:00	every every week I think I'm going to do a quick review of what I've learned on YouTube uh so that's what this video is going to be something that I can film quickly and uh and edit even more quickly so it gives me a little bit of a
00:00:13	break on the weekend so I guess the first lesson that I've learned so far is that um I think it's good to post to YouTube every day uh so far in the last 15 days I've gotten 21,000 views which represents that represents
00:00:31	227 hours of view time I've gotten 10,000 views in the last 48 hours in the last 15 days I've gotten 15 subscribers so I've averaged one per day but I think the way that actually works is that they may ramp up here towards
00:00:51	the end of the challenge as I have more content so that that'll be interesting to see what happens in the next 15 days one question that a lot of people have been asking is how much does the YouTube channel make and in my case my YouTube
00:01:04	channel hasn't made any money and I've been at it for a couple of years and I think that the quality of my videos it's not the best it's not the worst so uh but I haven't made any money yet YouTube changed the way that it pays
00:01:20	uh content creators and some of the things that you need to do you need to have I think the first tier for earning on YouTube is you need to have 500 100 subscribers so I'm getting close to that as of this filming
00:01:33	I have a little over 360 subscribers I think it's 366 subscribers so far so we're getting close to that 500 subscriber Mark which is the the first tier for earning uh the other thing you need to
00:01:50	do is you need to post three videos in three months so every every 90 days you have to post three videos which obviously done over the last 15 days and i' I've pretty much kept up on that record but the uh the problem for my
00:02:08	content is that you need to also hit one of the following two stats which is either 3,000 watch hours of your long form videos or 3 million views for your shorts and you can see here in this little statistics that I grab from
00:02:27	YouTube this morning that I'm nowhere near that but I think we're getting close to the subscriber count of 500 and I think that the views will will get better as I get better at making videos and I am learning a lot um I'm getting
00:02:41	instant feedback which is another advantage of posting every day you see almost immediately what's working and what's not I will say that it is kind of funny because what I'm learning about thumbnails and titles is that they do
00:02:53	need to be eye-catching they need to be a little bit provocative and because you guys are are all perverts uh having them be somewhat sexualized actually helps the view count
00:03:07	a little bit so uh we'll just try to uh play around with that a little bit more so I do need to play with the uh the thumbnails and the titles a little bit more to get more clicks and then once I get the click I think I need to look at
00:03:22	my analytics see where people are clicking out of the videos and make adjustments to my videos and learn from those statistics so that's what I plan to do over the next 15 days back in May April and May of 2023 I spent $500 to
00:03:38	promote my videos on YouTube I think on the veritasium channel they talked about this too is that Google uses their own click Farms to kind of ramp up your views and subscribers during those periods of advertising but you're not
00:03:53	really getting engaged subscribers for about $500 in advertising uh back then I got about a 100 subscribers but those are not active subscribers they're not people that are really engaged with the content or really care what I have to
00:04:08	say in particular so that wasn't very valuable in the long run but at any rate I think that's enough for this video again this is day 16 of a 30-day challenge I've given myself to post a video to YouTube Every Day in the month
