00:00:00I have the attention span of a gnat. So it's really hard for me to sit and stay focused on something as mundane as looking through pennies all day. Hey, what's up, everybody? So in the last video, I promised to explain why this channel is called THE COIN BOT.
00:00:18And if any of you guessed that I was going to be developing an application to mine cryptocurrency or to day trade cryptocurrency, well, I have some bad news for you. You're wrong. The reason this channel is called THE COIN BOT is because I have three main areas of interest.
00:00:35One is in robotics and science fiction. Two is in coin collecting, specifically small cents (U.S. pennies) and obviously computer programming, which is what we talked about in the last video. This channel is going to be combining all three of those interests. And what I'm really interested in is
00:00:54developing a machine learning and computer vision algorithm that is capable of finding numismatically interesting pennies. Because I enjoy coin collecting, one of the things I like to do is watch YouTube channels about coin collecting. One of the channels that I follow pretty closely is called Blue Ridge Silverhound. And a couple of years ago, Sean on that channel mentioned that he had
00:01:17a couple of friends out on the West Coast who generated a six figure income for a couple of years straight just by coin roll hunting. [SEAN]: About how much is Rich and his wife making collectively from doing coin roll hunting as their profession, I guess. Well, two consecutive years for 2017 and 18, they have made profit wise over $110,000.
00:01:43He said he was putting in 10 to 12 hour days, and so was his wife. If you want to make a ton of money, coin roll hunting the consistency and working nearly every single day of the week. Now they did that full time. In fact, they did it more than full time, and in a lot of cases, they were spending twelve to 14 hours a day coin roll hunting.
00:02:05When I've done any coin roll hunting in the past, I found it particularly grueling. I have the attention span of a gnat, so it's really hard for me to sit and stay focused on something as mundane as looking through pennies all day. And it's certainly not something that I could do for 12 to 14 hours a day. So that's why you'll see this channel kind
00:02:25of goes off on side quests every once in a while. But the main focus of this channel will really be to develop some sort of machine that is capable of finding numismatically interesting coins. If any of this sounds like stuff you'd be interested in, I hope you'll leave a like for this video subscribe and leave a comment down below as to whether you think this is even possible or not.
00:02:46In the next video, we're going to be talking about the challenges of creating a machine learning algorithm that's capable of finding specific coins. And until then, I hope you have a great day and I look forward to seeing you in the next one. [SEAN]: And finally what he wanted me to tell you. OK?
00:02:54There's going to be two denominations that he feels like is going to offer a lot of future potential, Lincoln pennies . . . . . . and he said dollar coins.
