00:00:00hello everyone and welcome back to the channel uh today is day five of my personal challenge to record a video every day and post something to YouTube every day during the month of September so in this video I just wanted to
00:00:13briefly talk about what I've learned so far and so far I've learned that I really don't know much about YouTube and its algorithms so I hear people talk about the YouTube algorithm all the time and um during this experiment I've
00:00:29really tried to work on not saying um and oh so much as I'm talking and that seems to be working but it really as I concentrate on what I'm saying I notice that I'm still a little bit stilted so I really want to continue to work on that
00:00:44I also notice that I kind of slow down when I'm trying to think and that causes uh things to not go so well and I and I end up saying uh and uh a lot so I'm going to try to keep from doing that what I find interesting also is that
00:01:00I've had some videos that have gotten absolutely no views and so there must be some truth there must be a secret formula to not only the thumbnail of a video but also the content of a video and how you tell a story so I'm really
00:01:16interested in learning some of that I have watched several other videos about it and they tend to be in the sty in a style that I don't prefer to watch um so I'm I've said this before in other videos that I am not Mr Beast I don't
00:01:34like that kind of content but it seems that that's what you have to do in order to become popular or in order to get any views on on YouTube you have to create a thumbnail that is clickbait and then you have to kind of give away the entire
00:01:50story right at the beginning of the video to engage the viewers and then you really have to keep them engaged throughout by kind of keeping those endorphins going on all the time I've been trying to post these videos
00:02:03basically raw and unedited I've been doing a little I did a little more editing on yesterday's video but I do want to just kind of post these and see how they do however while I'm doing that I also
00:02:16need to recognize that I I do need to tell a story that is engaging in order to to generate any interest at all I also was thinking a lot about the videos that I tend to click on and I need to look at their thumbnail and see what
00:02:32attracted me about those videos and maybe make uh thumbnails that are a little bit more attractive and clickable U the other thing that I've seen is uh I watched another engineer and on his channel he was talking about
00:02:46how he posted a video every day for 30 days and the only one that really got any traction was one that he had basically copied from another viral video and he had just Incorporated his own story into into that script and I
00:03:02was thinking maybe I'd try some of that maybe maybe try something like that during uh over the weekend when I have a little bit more time and see how that goes to learn more about what makes YouTube tick what makes people click on
00:03:14a particular video and what keeps them engaged and right now I'm not getting enough viewership to even uh look at the analytics and see where I can make adjustments it over you have to overcome quite a bit of internal resistance in
00:03:30order to do that so I'm just really happy to uh continue even though I may not be getting as many views as I'd like so it can be a little frustrating at times but I really do want to continue this this challenge for myself and keep
00:03:44posting things so I hope you'll bear with me again if anyone has any feedback or comments things that uh they think I could be doing better or suggestions about videos that I could watch about how to make engineering content better
00:03:58um I'm all I really do want to get that feedback so please leave a comment down below if you have some feedback for me even if it's uh like the guy yesterday who said get a life so thanks everyone thanks for watching that's my two cents
00:04:01and have a great day take care
