00:00:00	hello everyone welcome back to the channel today is day seven and in this video I wanted to take this first opportunity to test the new camera equipment that I showed in yesterday's video basically here on the workbench
00:00:11	you can see that I have two multimeters one is a fluke which is eerily similar to the ones that we used to use back in the Navy and the other one U covers a function that the fluke does not um the
00:00:28	fluke does voltage and resistance and continuity those kinds of things but the one thing that the fluke does not test is capacitance so when I bought this um it was obviously pretty cheaply made you can see that the one of the alligator
00:00:44	clips just kind of popped right off so I I mean really this video is really just about getting that alligator clip soldered back on so I'll take that off we're going to take this cover off
00:00:59	the allig clip like that we are going to push the cover down onto the wire you can see that there's quite a big solder blob on there and the other
00:01:16	end of the wire is broken off there so I think what I'm going to do first is just strip that back just a little bit so let me get my wire strippers with that wire is pretty thin gauge so whoever made this meter clearly spar no expense we'll
00:01:31	get the soldering iron heated up and I will grab my little Grabbers here at the flux out actually get a little bit out quite a big lob of flux there we'll use that extra flux to put some Flex on the end
00:01:47	of the wire as well a little bit of on that that will just about do it and we'll put that cover back over the alligator clip and that should give the wire a little bit of strain relief as well
00:02:12	so and that's the finished product you can still open the alligator clips there so uh I got it all soldered together I'm pretty happy with the way that came out and the only thing left to do is really just to test it and see if it works the
00:02:26	only way that I know of to do that is to grab a capacitor out of this little handy bag and we'll see if it measures accurately one of the things I was concerned about was whether the
00:02:40	soldering job here if the wires need to be the exact same length in order to not affect the capacitance of this meter itself so we will just test this and see if we get close this capacitor says it's 1,000 microfarads so I have it on the
00:02:55	2,000 microfarad setting and you can see that the meter is reading just a little little over 1,000 microfarads for this particular capacitor so I think it's working so I'm pretty happy with that so that was pretty easy um and that about
00:03:09	wraps up day seven of my 30-day challenge we made it through one week so far so I'm pretty happy about that I'm also really happy with the way this overhead camera is working I think that's going to be great for coming
00:03:20	upcoming videos where you see me working on the coin bot doing some soldering and things like that I can actually uh probably zoom in a little bit more so you can see a little bit more detail but overall I'm pretty happy with this setup
