00:00:00	in the last few videos I've been showing you how to properly crimp jst connections onto solid core copper wire but in those videos I failed to mention probably the most important step properly stripping the wires and I
00:00:14	showed this in the last video but I'm going to show it again one more time here and in this case I'm using solid core wire because that also seems to make a bit of difference and it's easier to work with um but you can see that you
00:00:27	want to put the the wire in the right hole here and also I mentioned this in the last video but you want to make sure that the end of the wire is flush with the edge of the pliers there that gives you the right distance to strip and the
00:00:41	last thing I wanted to mention about this is that when you squeeze the handle you can see that it pulls that little piece of wire off but you want to make sure that you squeeze the handles all the way together and that will allow
00:00:56	you to actually pull the wire out before these strippers actually fully retract and now using the other end of the wire I'm going to show you the wrong way to do it using these calibrated strippers like we said before you want
00:01:10	to make sure that it's in the right hole and you want to make sure that the wire is lined up with the edge of the pliers there so you're getting the correct amount stripped you're in the right hole
00:01:25	there and if I only squeeze this halfway you can see that the wire actually strips but if I don't squeeze this all the way down you can see that I can't pull the wire out now and if I start to retract
00:01:43	this I still can't pull the wire out and the stripper portion here will actually mash up against the wire in there and if that's stranded wire it's going to make a mess of that end so like I said every time you use these calibrated strippers
00:01:57	you want to make sure that you squeeze it all the way that will allow you to pull the wire out when this retracts before that closes so that's super important when you're using these calibrated strippers that you do a
